The Long Table
Along with the BBQ Magazine, we hosted an incredible networking event at The Glasshouse Collective!
On the 15th of September, Garden House Design and The BBQ Magazine brought The Long Table to The Glasshouse Collective. Our mission was to help people realise the potential that the outdoor industries have in terms of collaborating with brands and professionals from other industries. With the creative flair and styling expertise that GHD brings and the incredible talent of Chef Jean Delport, that we simply couldn’t refuse, from the BBQ Magazine, we were a match made in heaven.
Let’s rewind to a few months back, when Garden House Design and BBQ Magazine first collaborated and challenged ourselves to bridge the gap between the two things we do best, outdoor living and outdoor cooking. We had a few months to organise forty guests, a brilliant menu, a venue and of course creating a table long enough.
The Long Table was born out of a passion to encourage people to invest more into the idea of collaboration whilst living outdoors and being in nature. We wanted to create an outdoor dining experience, so rather than just eating off of paper plates and juggling a drink in one hand and a paper plate in the other, we decided to create a long table to invite people to sit down and create real conversations and enjoy some beautiful food. As for the beautiful food, we were lucky enough to invite Chef Jean Delport- executive chef at, Michelin star restaurant, Interlude located at Leonardslee Gardens in West Sussex.
As we welcomed our guests to sit inside the glasshouse, across the board- from sports and magazines to garden designers and property developers and even wine experts. We watched as our guests were having meaningful conversations and creating real connections with other guests from across all types of industries- from sports and magazines to garden designers and property developers and even wine experts.
As members of The Glasshouse Collective, it was an obvious choice to ask them to be the location for this event. We love introducing our clients and industry friends to The Glasshouse Collective and all the amazing work the landform team does to make sure people can experience and see the full potential of living outdoors. As well as showing off our Renson Amani and Cubic outdoor kitchen, The Glasshouse Collective’s glasshouse was an incredible place to hold forty people for a dining experience. With the sun streaming through as the guests chatted, it became the perfect late summertime setting to make new friends.
We hope that everybody who came to the lunch enjoyed themselves and made some strong connections and rapports with some of the other guests. We would like to thank The Glasshouse Collective for letting us use the venue exclusively for the day, and also thank the BBQ Magazine for their collaboration with us on this event.
