Garden Design

Your garden is more than just the space outside your home — it’s an opportunity to create a beautiful, functional environment that enhances your lifestyle. Whether you're dreaming of a peaceful retreat, a vibrant space for entertaining, or a low-maintenance design that works with your schedule, thoughtful garden design is the first step toward transforming that vision into reality.

At Garden House Design, we specialise in creating unique, well-balanced outdoor spaces that blend aesthetics with practicality. Every project we take on is carefully tailored to suit the needs of the site and the people who use it. We consider everything — from planting schemes and seasonal interest to layout, structure, and sustainable solutions — to ensure your garden remains beautiful and usable all year round.

Whether you’re starting from a blank slate or looking to refresh and reimagine an existing space, our team is here to guide you through every stage of the process, from initial concept to final planting. Let us help you create a garden that feels like a natural extension of your home — a space to relax, recharge, and #liveoutdoors for longer.

Our Resin Services

We are also happy to offer resin services in our portfolio of landscaping and garden design. If you are looking to update your front garden and driveway, or would like to have your canopy sitting on a perfectly finished surface - we can do that for you.

Not only do resin surfaces look great, there are a number of benefits to a permeable resin surface for driveways, patios and pathways. They are hard wearing and low maintenance, and more importantly, they have a reduced impact on the environment. Our resin surfaces are SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) compliant: an initiative set up by the Environmental Agency to help manage flood risk.

Our resin surfaces are 100% permeable, offering a great outdoor solution for both residential and commercial environments. This includes tree pits, hot tub and swimming pool surrounds in Sussex, Surrey, and Hampshire.

Resin Installation Method

At your site survey with one of our team members, we will establish if we will need to construct a new sub-base or can overlay an existing surface. The preparation of the sub-base is key to a long lasting excellent resin surface.

We will remove the current surface: paving, grass, flags, etc and then scrape back or dig down until the required level. A new sub-base will be built up with a minimum of compacted 150mm MOT type 1 and compacted down, to ensure a suitable solid surface. The next layer will be permeable asphalt, which is our preferred method, and is a good option for areas prone to flooding and therefore, ensures your area is SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) compliant.

At this stage, we will require a 3-4 week drying time before we can return to lay the final layer of resin. This is to allow all the chemical residues to leave the asphalt, before the resin is applied. You will be able to park on the asphalt, whilst waiting for the resin. The UV Bound Resin Surface will be laid at a minimum of 15mm to 18mm for driveways and 2mm to 15mm for walkways. This is when your surface really comes alive! Our installation team hand screed, to ensure a minimum depth as above, across the whole installation.

Please note, that the resin surfaces should not be installed in the rain. We will manage and update you at all times for installation dates and any change of days.
